Scottish Fire and Rescue National Training Centre

Saturday saw the team making full use of the resources generously offered by the Scottish Fire and Rescue National Training Centre in Cambuslang.
Training in various scenarios – multistorey searches, rubble piles, collapsed buildings and so much more, the dogs, handlers, buddy’s, bodies and base worked exceptionally well in these challenging situations with everyone upskilling and refreshing on existing competencies.
Huge thanks go out to WC Davie Moffat (USAR SME) who was incredibly welcoming, showed us some of the technical fire kit used in collapsed buildings and explained the multi-agency process once the team are called. Davie even bodied throughout the afternoon for us and knowing the buildings inside and out, set us some incredibly challenging searches.
Another thing we all learned yesterday is that taking clear shots of search dogs in action is virtually impossible! 🫣

Handlers & Dogs:
Eilidh and Felon
Robert and Glen
Mick and Morah
Brian and Zak
Gayle and Merlin
Base control, buddies and bodies – Gordon, Graham, WC Davie and Kate.

Excellent exercise work that could not be possible without the support organisations like Scottish Fire and Rescue Service – Your Safety for providing these essential facilities and Arnold Clark for getting us there safely, Contour Training Ltd for the helmets and Keela Outdoors for our kit.
Thanks also to our supporters who have involvement behind the scenes ensuring we can continue to run the team:
